Let's face it. Two years have flown by, and it's portrait time again. The Adam Portraiture Awards, sponsored by the Adam Foundation and presented by the Portrait Gallery of New Zealand in Wellington, are a wonderfully colourful celebration of New Zealand culture.
The judge for the 2010 award is director of the National Portrait Gallery of Australia, Andrew Sayers. Andrew has the difficult task of reducing the record number of 311 entries down to a manageable number of between 80 and 100 for final judging.
Come and see a selection of these top portrait paintings from around the country. Laugh, smile or grimace - it's hard not to be drawn into the mystery of another face and the story that lies behind it. Who do we think we are?
