The "Taisho-koto" instrument was invented approximately 90 years ago. (It is said to have been invented in 1912).
This instrument is usually made out of wood and has a total of 2 to 12 strings. It can also have anywhere from 12 to 30 keys.
Several changes have been made to the sound of the "Taisho-koto" over the years, and now can perform anything from popular children's songs to classical and popular music. The musical sound from the Taisho-koto had become very iconic and is loved by more than a million people throughout Japan.
Kinsiryu - one of the 5 major Taisho-koto schools in Japan - has performed in many countries and provides a perfect chance to introduce traditional Japanese music, along with the Japanese culture. The "Taisho-koto" has been greatly received previously at Carnegie Hall in New York City, many European countries, Australia and China
