Raglan people took part in the ANZAC campaigns. A new exhibition opening on Tuesday 20th April tells their story and also covers what it was like for the residents of the small town during the wars.
The exhibition includes many items from the Museum’s archives which due to the small size of the museum building can not normally be on display. These include two enemy flags captured by Raglan troops during the Second World War. Many of the historic military photos from the archives have been enlarged and are on display for the first time. In addition a number of Raglan residents have lent personal and family items for the duration of the exhibition.
The Raglan and District Museum presents Raglan and the ANZACs Exhibition. Open Tuesday April 20 to Tuesday April 27 10am to 4pm. Saturday and Sunday 10am to 6pm. At the Raglan Museum in Wainui Road, opposite Stewart St and Union Church.
