Papakura Theatre Company proudly presents the Auckland Premiere of "the new musical lovingly ripped off from the motion picture Monty Python and The Holy Grail! " Irreverent, funny and colourful, this Tony Award-winning musical comedy tells of King Arthur and his attempt to gather his Knights of the Round Table and go in search of the Holy Grail. Travelling with his faithful servant Patsy (!), they encounter God, beautiful dancing girls, flatulent Frenchmen and killer rabbits! All the while they each dream of being in a Broadway show!

With books and lyrics by Eric Idle, who also wrote the music with John du Pres, Spamalot brings back the much loved humour of the early Python days and sends up musical theatre itself!

Monty Python's Spamalot won a Tony Award for Best Musical in 2005 and became a big hit on Broadway. A year later, when the show opened at The Palace Theatre in London's West End, the reviewer in The Sunday Times described it as "raising silliness to an art form!"

Directed by Adey Ramsel, with Scott McDowall as MD and Vanessa Hales as Choreographer, this Auckland Premiere features Iain Fenwick, John Hellyer, Sharon Hewlett, Darren Ludlam, Tom Coup & Chris Anderson, a mad cow and the odd rabbit!

Gala Opening with complimentary bubbles on Friday 30 April.

Please note that there are no bad seats at The Hawkins Theatre - Papakura - all have a good view of the stage!
