Beginning with a story board and video in the hall showing how the windows tunnels were pushed through to emerge on the rock face above the Waitawheta River and the Windows Walkway was formed.
Then set off for a walk around the windows walkway, cross the swing bridge over the Waitawheta and then head up to the pumphouse and into this tunnel which will be lit up specially so that you can really see the place where the miners worked.
Our guide and host will be Dan Bustard who was the contractor who has created many of the tracks, bridges and opened up tunnels for public access. This will be a rare chance to see this footage of the work in progress.
