Russell Poole, innovator and educator, has put together a new genre in art - Image and Verse.
The photos of Native Birds are the catalyst for the verse. Russell builds a rapport with the birds in Shakespear Park, Whangaparaoa, and gains their confidence to get close enough to engage them and consequently photograph them.
His original verse is inspirational, speaking to the viewer from their own place in life and time.
Russell was a Montana Poetry Day contest winner.
