Who said Kiwi can't fly? 30 of our precious icons will be winging their way to Pukaha Mount Bruce Wildlife Centre.
The translocation is one of several initiatives that will benefit from a wide-ranging campaign to raise $300,000 to further re-establish kiwi and other native birds at the National Wildlife Centre.
Wairarapa and visiting food and wine enthusiasts and anyone interested in a great day out to help our feathered friends are invited to a Long Lunch on to be held in a marquee at the front of Copthorne Resort Solway Park in Masterton.
The five-course feast will be accompanied by Wairarapa wines, entertainment, special guests and a charity auction.
