Chris Bray Photography Courses

In association with Australian Geographic, Canon and Lowepro, Chris Bray Photography is running 1-Day photography courses to help take your photography to a whole new level!

Have you ever showed a photograph of a breathtaking moment, only to have to say "It looked better in real life..."? Or, do you have a sneaking ambition to become a professional photographer? Or is photography just one of your passions that you enjoy improving? If so, then this course is for you! We cover everything from basic composition through to depth of field, lighting and histograms - making sure you get that perfect shot!

Enduring hours of classroom lectures isn’t what learning photography is about! It’s about being welcomed into a small group of like-minded, enthusiastic people in a friendly, open environment; being taught with examples and hands-on practice; sharing, discussing and understanding your results over delightfully catered meals; and generally absorbing and trialling the kind of skills that will - by the end of the 9 hour day – have you bursting with excitement to keep practicing as you start to see the rewards of understanding how to control your camera to capture and share the scenes you could, until now, only enjoy in your mind’s eye.

The day is dispersed with practical outdoor sessions with one on one private tuition, where you can practice all the skills and techniques in the ideal setting – Butterfly Creek has been carefully selected to have immediate access to a diverse range of subjects from plants and wildlife, to water, close-ups and landscape views. Course notes are provided to save you having to write things down, instead letting you focus on understanding and practicing, and plenty of time is allocated to reviewing practical sessions as a group to learn from each other. It’s a creative day during which you’ll learn a huge amount (just take a look at the syllabus!), and to add fuel to your desire to improve, we’ll be giving away one of Canon’s new 270 EX Speedlight flashes and other great prizes.
