Lift Off Levin Target Flying

How about a nice fresh early start to your Easter Sunday? Head down to Donnelly Park in Levin as the flying competitions of the Lift Off Levin Festival of Ballooning continue and watch the pilots as they aim for a target area on the grounds.

With the pilots and crew having chosen their launch site from a distance of at least two kilometres away and using their skill and judgement of the conditions, the balloons will aim to be reaching the target from 7am onwards (to allow for the arrival of daylight savings, dawn takeoffs are earlier).

Once the balloons have passed, there is always the option of following them as they make their way into the countryside to continue their flights and start looking for landing sites. Like the pilots and crew, you will probably have worked up a healthy appetite, and it will be time for a hearty breakfast at one of Levin’s fine eateries.
