For Day 2 of the Lift Off Levin Festival of Ballooning, Saturday April 3, the pilots get to showcase their flying skills as they aim for a target at the edge of Lake Horowhenua and then have the option of performing a gentle dip into the water before flying on to a suitable landing spot.

The best place to be will be on the edge of Lake Horowhenua as the balloons start making their approach at about 7:30am from launchsites of their choosing, a key aspect of the event as pilots use their skill to navigate the wind currents to reach the target.

If you are in the area for the day, there is always the possibility of an evening fun flight for the participants - keep an eye on the skies an hour before sunset.
