Malvina - My Life in Song reflects Dame Malvina Major's love of all things musical.
As a young girl, country singing was a favourite pastime and lead her to take part in many Operatic Society productions. Under the tuition of Sister Mary Leo in Auckland, she achieved international acclaim. The arias she was introduced to during this time remain special to Dame Malvina, and will be featured in her April South Island performances.
Malvina - My Life in Song is a two-hour journey of well-known arias, popular songs and entertaining anecdotes shared by the Dame herself. Four of the Dame's special friends will join her on this tour - brilliant young soprano Rachel Pike, exciting tenor Karl Perigo, popular musician and vocalist Vicki Lee and acclaimed accompanist Kirsten Simpson, who is returning from London for the tour.
