Take to the skies with the “Classic Hits Around New Zealand Air Safari 2010”, meet the pilots, the crew & see the aircraft when the Safari arrives in town!

The Air Safari flies into Mandeville Aerodrome on Thursday 1st April 2010 from 10.00am, for lunch, hosted by the Southern Districts Aero Club at Gore. After lunch the Air Safari is off to Queenstown.

Tune into your local 'Classic Hits Radio Station' & listen for the competitions, promotions and interviews- be in to win one of 5 “Trial Flights “with the Southern Districts Aero Club who are offering 2 flights or Croyden Air Services who are offering 1 flight in a Tiger Moth or the Southland Recreational Aircraft Club who have two Trial Flights up for grabs!- just listen to the Classic Hits Radio the week before the Safari is in town- & hear what’s going on!

Find out what it takes to learn to fly and become a "Young Eagle" with the Southern Districts Aero Club, meet new people & enjoy the challenges of your new Sport- flying!

This event is to help Flying New Zealand’s Aero Clubs, to attract new members into sport and recreational flying. Starting on Tuesday 23rd March 2010, departing from Ardmore, the event will weave its way through New Zealand covering 17 airfields, and finishing on 1st April 2010 at Queenstown just in time for the Easter Weekend and Warbirds Over Wanaka.

You will see up to 65 Aircraft to take part in this great adventure with about 160 entrants. With pilots from Australia & England and great support from New Zealanders. As they wind their way through New Zealand, the Air Safari will be hosted by the local Aero Clubs, the main attraction here is to allow the local districts to showcase their cuisine, tourist attractions and their history. Joining us on the Event is the Life Flight Trust Air Ambulance personnel; they are aiming to increase the awareness to New Zealanders of the work that is done in saving lives nationwide.

Come and meet the pilots and view the many different types of Aircraft from the World War 2 Catalina, to the modern Cessna, Pipers, Lancair and the new generation Ultralight Sport Aircraft as well as Helicopters at the Mandeville Aerodrome.
