Priscilla Brown
Installation | Drawing
Priscilla graduated from Elam School of Fine Arts in 2009 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Honours).
Priscilla’s interests, in this current work, include the formal qualities of space in visual art, contrasting the illusory volume created by pigment with the real space of sculpture. She endeavoured to find a place where the two could co-exist in an interesting way.
Drawing forms a basis to Priscilla’s work. Currently she is working on a series of ink line drawings, which focus on the aesthetic beauty of organic forms and flow. Using an undulating line to create a sense of rhythm and, in the process, Priscilla references hair and water, as metaphors for the pulse of life.
