The Future of Solar Energy – Developments in Photovoltaics and Opportunities for New Zealand
Photovoltaics, PV, or solar electricity, represent the next generation of ‘smart’ technologies which are set to change the way electricity grids operate and power is supplied in remote areas.
PV technology is developing fast with efficiencies increasing, costs decreasing and an array of new technologies emerging.
The 2009 Pickering lecture will examine PV technologies, trends and applications, as well as the opportunities for more extensive deployment in New Zealand.
