Well-know columnist Helen Brown wasn't a cat person, but her nine-year-old son was. So when Sam heard a woman was getting rid of kittens, he pleaded to see them. The deal was soon done - the kitten would be delivered when she was big enough. A week later, Sam was run over and killed. Not long after, a little black kitten was delivered. Cleo's zest for life slowly taught the traumatised family to laugh again. CLEO: How an uppity cat helped heal a family is a warm and often funny book about love, loss and redemption.
This event is a fundraiser for the Wellington SPCA.
