This will be a concert of all Russian music, featuring Mattei Napoli (piano) playing Rachmaninov’s Corelli Variations, Lilia Carpinelli (soprano) singing Tatiana’s letter aria from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, Flavio Villani (piano) playing Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition and two preludes by Kabalevsky and Clare Penny (flute) playing Rachmaninov’s Vocalise and a exciting Cossack dance.

Complimentary Russian drinks and nibbles will be served.

The concert is at 80 Pa Road Kerikeri on Friday 18th September and will begin at 7pm. Tickets are available at Organic Gourmet, 85 Kerikeri Road, Kerikeri or at the door for $50.

The proceeds will be used by the Aroha Music Society to support the delivery of music education in Northland’s primary schools using an improved version of the internationally successful approach developed by the composer Carl Orff. This teaches music through activities children instinctively like to do: sing, chant rhymes, clap, dance, and play percussion instruments.
