The University of Waikato invites you to join economic leaders to hear the latest insights into the Global Economic Crisis. The seminar series addresses some of the big picture issues surrounding us at the moment.
Selwyn Parker, author of “The Great Crash” will discuss 'The Global Economic Crisis of 2009 and the Great Depression of Last Century - Made in America'
Made in America discusses the parallels between the Great Depression of the Thirties and today’s Great Meltdown. Most of the financial sector and stock market collapses of the last 100 years started in the United States, just like the latest one, and had global or nearly global consequences. And each of them bore much the same characteristics as today’s calamitous downturn, but especially the collapse of 1929.
Cash bar opens from 5.30pm
