The School of Music is proud to present the inaugural Songwriter of the Year Competition. Six of the most talented songwriters currently studying popular music at The University of Auckland will compete at the Grand Final concert at the Maidment Theatre, 29 September. Judges include the iconic songwriter and composer Don McGlashan, Dan Wrightson of Juice TV and leading New Zealand producer Simon Holloway from Beaver Studios. We are pleased to announce the winners of the Songwriter of the Year Schools Competition, ‘Papa Eden’ (Auckland Grammar School) and Shana Llorando (Sancta Maria College) who will also perform on the night.
