Five of the latest films from Hong Kong’s vibrant film sector are screening over four days at the Rialto Newmarket. Four of the films are in Cantonese and the fifth is in Mandarin. All have English subtitles.
The films tell stories of prostitution, tough life in a New Territories town, kidnapping and crime, gang wars and a legend about the defeat of a warlord and rise of a people´s hero. They have all won awards in Hong Kong and at international film festivals.
The festival is brought to you by the Hong Kong NZ Business Association and the Asia NZ Film Foundation.
