The Live the Journey Charity Ball is hosted by Te Whare Wananga o Awanuiarangi.

This year we are supporting Hospice Eastern Bay of Plenty and the Child Cancer Foundation. Our goal is to raise a total of $50,000, with $25,000 to be donated to each charity.

Event Highlights

We are expecting over 540 guests and have planned an evening filled with entertainment (Pio Terei, Maisey Rika, Te Waka Huia, Tait Kora, William Winitana), dinner, auctions and mingling with special guests. Tawera Nikau, Sir Wira Gardiner, Sir Hirini Moko Mead and Sarah Walker have already confirmed their attendance.

Guest Chef Charles Royal (previous recipient of Innovative Chef of the Year) will be designing the cuisine using his Kinaki range of Maori herbs, creating dishes with a uniquely Aotearoa flavour and our highly respected Arts and Visual Culture team will theme the event, which we expect to be a breathtaking display of Maori art.

As both a learning and community focussed organisation, Te Whare Wananga O Awanuiarangi is proud to support the tremendous contribution our chosen charities are making within our communities and for Māori.
