Wellington Diwali Festival of Lights

Delight all your senses with the exciting sounds, kaleidoscopic colours and fragrant spices of the Indian Diwali Festival of Lights. Bring all the family on October 18 to enjoy the pulsating rhythms and choreography of the Bollywood Dance Competition, magical Rajasthani puppets, and delicious indian curries, mango lassis and other delights from dozens of food stalls. Overseas performers include a colourful dance troupe from Gujarat, India. The annual Diwali Festival is one of the most ancient and popular of all the Indian Festivals, signifying the triumph of light over darkness, good over evil, and renewal of life. The Diwali Festival is brought to you by Asia New Zealand Foundation, Wellington City Council and Communities Action Trust NZ (CATNZ).

Get in the Diwali Festival mood with the Diwali Garba Dance Night at the TSB Arena (8pm, Saturday October 17, hosted by the Wellington Indian Association. Tickets $5).
