New Zealand’s well-loved entertainers, Jools and Lynda Topp, have a lot to celebrate this year. As well as a theatrical release of their first feature film, the Topps are celebrating 25 years in show business, and a double half-century as twin sisters.

To celebrate One Hundred Years of the Topp Twins, our “untouchable girls” will tour a brand-new theatre show based on their life-story around New Zealand later this year. The new stage show promises to be a very funny and clever telling of the twins’ metamorphosis from dairy farmers’ daughters to national comedians, and will involve many of the twins characters New Zealanders have come to love over the years as well as multi-media and the twins’ trademark style of audience participation. The show will be an irreverent romp through different eras of NZ fashion and music.

It has often been said that if you wrote down the Topp Twins story no one would believe it. From humble beginnings growing up on a farm in Ruawaro, the twins’ trajectory journey to become national heroes and international performers via the Army, busking and active politic protesting, has been an impressive and very unique story. They are now certainly “a comedy act to treasure “ (The Times, London).

Lynda and Jools are excited they have a new lease on life after Jools’ brush with breast cancer, and can now celebrate 100 years of laughter, tears and triumph being the world's only comedic, singing, dancing, cross-dressing, lesbian yodeling twin sisters with a penchant for gingham skirts and pink toweling pantsuits.

A new show and a new century, also calls for new performance media, so the Topp Twins theatre show will integrate multi-media with live performance to take the audience on a journey of a lifetime.
