Hear Phil Kerr, Managing Director McLaren Group NZ and former Manager Race Team McLaren, give a colourful inside account of remarkable times during the 60s and 70s – the technological advances, the sponsorship deals and the personalities – within the most glamorous, dangerous and expensive sport in the world.
There was as much at stake then as there is now: cars were faster, it was competitive, the dangers were evident and speed records set remain unbroken today. The 1960s and 1970s were the hey-day of motor racing, where drivers literally took their lives into their hands every time they got behind the wheel and Phil was at the centre of it all.
Phil had a long and successful association with Jack Brabham (Director of Brabham Racing Organisation) Bruce McLaren (Joint Managing Director and Formula One Team director) and their respective teams and was as involved as anyone with the inside happenings in Formula One, Can-Am and other forms of racing.
This unique opportunity to meet one of motor racing’s most influential players should not be missed.
