Footnote Dance returns to Tauranga with a special combination of their latest work. The new works, inspired by experiences growing up in New Zealand are by Malia Johnston (Crash Test Dummies), Michael Parmenter (I Don’t Mind) and Sarah Foster (Quick Unpick).
These same choreographers have also taken inspiration from remarkable Kiwis to make solo works for the individual dancers Anita Hunziker (inspired by Ladyhawke), Jesse Wikiriwhi (Len Lye) and Francis Christeller (Douglas Lilburn). Footnote Dance is directed by Deirdre Tarrant and will be a must-see! – quirky, physical, poignant and compelling.
‘Coloured elastics emerge and surround Sarah Knox in a solo of breathtaking beauty. Knox is stunningly elegant amidst the tense architectural shapes of the elastic as the other dancers create lines of energy around her.’ (Lyne Pringle)
