A series of images, thoughts and half remembered stories ……….
My maternal grandmother thinking ahead and as World War 2 was approaching, stocking up on bolts of gingham fabric, so that her daughter Molly would have dresses as she grew up during the war years.
Fire flies dancing in the garden of my upstate New York childhood home.
My brother (aged 13) with cheese straws up his nose, trying to impress my friend Emma. It sort of worked.
Making faces at the cows on Uncle William’s farm ……. He was not amused “don’t make faces at cows” he told us in a broad Lancastrian accent.
Choreography by Ann Dewey and dancers.
Music by John Gibson and David Kilgour.
“Ann’s work is sensuous quirky and wholly original unlike anything else in NZ” Douglas Wright
“Here is a choreographer who takes the time to polish her works and they subsequently shine like the jewels they are, and leave us yearning for more.” Bernadette Rae, NZ Herald.
Performed at Baycourt Backstage
