Mangaweka township proudly presents its third annual all day Festival of Events.

Starting at 9am with the re-opening of the re-decorated, re-furbished iconic Mangaweka DC-3 Aeroplane Cafe, at the newly established Mangaweka International Airport at 9am. Soon followed by the opening of Craft/Producers Markets in the Museum grounds and dotted around various other locations of the Township.

Then get ready for the inspirational official opening of "Good as Goldie" Museum on the old Historic Main Street [see: www.wekaart.co.nz]. Then at Mid-day the Fakes & Forgeries Exhibition will open its doors, and public voting will begin [see: www.freewebs.com/mangawekagallery for details and Entry Forms, or down load from here. Closing date for entry forms is 11th of October, with Works in by the 18th of October]. 1pm see's the New River Centre Shop's official opening [see: oliversart.co.nz] followed by the Historic Jail opening at the old Police Constabulary.

Throughout the day there will be around three brand new Mangaweka Masterpieces unveiled, and then at around 3pm the Fakes & Forgeries Prize Giving/Awards will begin at the Yellow Church Gallery on SH1. All this is followed by Live Music from the Taihape Musicians Club Band and open mike poetry at the Mangaweka Hotel till late into the nite. Plus watch out for other surprises, and perhaps even a few celebrity faces in the crowds? Watch this space! So all in all a day not to be missed. Book it into your Calendar or Diary Right Now. Saturday the 24th of October 2009. See you there!
