The entertaining programme has something for everyone, including traditional Welsh songs, popular works from Mozart, Schubert and Offenbach and a selection of carols to mark the beginning of the festive season.
Amongst young soloists will be tenor Steven Rapana – Honours student at the University of Auckland School of Music.
Directed by leading Auckland conductor Diana Rhodes, the Auckland Welsh Choir specialises in works which call for the rich tones and full harmonies associated with Welsh choirs. Members come from all over Auckland and from many different nationalities and as well as traditional Welsh songs the choir's repertoire includes works in English, Maori, Latin, French, Italian and Samoan. In March the choir completed a successful tour of the Wellington area and it was recently filmed for TVNZ’s “Praise Be”. Door sales also available if there are still tickets available
