Laura Cooney (Director of The Day My Bum Went Psycho) presents Remembering Ralph, a puppet show based on real life events for children aged 4 – 12.
Ralph is a bilby; a very old bilby. Born during the Great Depression, he has seen the leaves on the trees change many times. He used an outdoor long drop and went to school before computers were invented. He was a soldier in the Second World War, then he was married and now he has many grandchildren. Every year he marches in the ANZAC day parade with his mates.
What is next for Ralph? When one has lived through the last 88 years of life down under, one invariably collects a large number of memories, and in old age his mind begins to turn to the heavens.
Based on the memoirs of War Veteran Len Ralph, this play presents our recent history in a delightfully fun way. For children, Ralph is a pet and a grandparent, teaching them to honour the past and how it feels to let go of those we love.
Stunning miniature puppetry with lots of hidden surprises that make children and adults say ‘ooohhh’. Ralph is a touching story that brings magic to the ground we walk on.
