Moon Festival

A major celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the National Day of China is being held in the Northcote Shopping Centre on Saturday, 3 October 09 from 10:30am – 3:00pm. National Day is one of the most important days in China with the 60th Anniversary being of special significance.

The anniversary will be celebrated in the Northcote Shopping Centre with a free community event of colour, culture and cuisine. It features an array of cultural performances including traditional dance, Chinese music and singing. The event also features authentic Asian food stalls, a host of free children’s entertainment, and special activities such as photographic exhibitions, lanterns and lots of giveaways.

The Moon Festival also takes place on this weekend and will be celebrated in the Northcote Shopping Centre on the evening of Friday, 2 October from 6pm - 9pm. There will be a variety of cultural performances from Chinese, Korean & Japanese groups including taiko drumming and a display of traditional Chinese costumes.
