Calling all Closet Poets!
….here’s your opportunity to step into the spotlight

Wellingtonians with a flare for the poetic are invited to be a part of the line-up at Vodka & Verses at The Cavern Club on Thursday 19 November – a fundraising event held in support of the Wellington Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Organizer Cheryl Fenwick says all-comers are welcome, “We’re inviting people to perform a poem for the fun of it really, in support of a great cause. To have a laugh, reflect, be entertained – the poems could be literary, humorous, inspirational, thought-provoking, heart-warming, tear-jerking, or patriotic.”

“A couple of Scottish friends are preparing a Robbie Burns piece, and another is thinking of reciting lyrics from a favourite Bob Dylan song, and I am sure there will be a number of original works being performed for the first time. Anything goes really – and that’s part of the fun of it – who knows what the night holds!”
