On 14th November you can ‘Hike for Mary Potter Hospice’ at Battle Hill Farm Forest Park. The hike combines an easy two to three hour hike and a ceremony on top of the summit to remember loved ones. The aim of the hike is to raise funds for the Hospice by participants seeking sponsorship for their hike and to remember loved ones. The hike isn’t limited to those whose friends or family have used the Hospice services, it is for everyone who wants to raise funds for the Hospice.

Anyone who has ever experienced the care of Mary Potter Hospice can tell you what a huge difference it makes to those living with a terminal illness and their families.

How hard is the Hike?
The hike starts at 10am and is expected to finish around 1.30pm.
The hike is easy to moderate (moderate fitness required). It should take one hour to one and half hours to complete (not including the stop for the remembrance ceremony). For a leisurely pace allow up to three hours. Sturdy shoes required as the hike involves some hills and walking over farmland.

What to bring?
Friends, family, warm clothes, wet weather gear, sturdy walking shoes, food and drink.

How do I register?
To register, please email sarah.scarlett@marypotter.org.nz with your name and contact details and a registration form will then be sent to you.

How do I raise sponsorship?
Approach friends, family and work colleagues and ask if they would like to sponsor you for the hike. There is also a prize of a nights accommodation (kindly donated by The Museum Hotel) at the Museum Hotel for whoever raises the most sponsorship money.
