The Kapiti Chamber Choir is combining with former members and friends of Bel Canto Ensemble under the direction of Dr Guy Jansen to bring a sparkling and expressive performance of Messiah to a Wellington audience.

Recognising that the drama stems from the text, Dr Jansen is keen to highlight the meaning of the work with a variety of textures, appropriate tempi and adding lightness and clarity to the wonderful choruses.

The arias and recitatives will be sung by members of the chorus, names well known both nationally and internationally:
Sopranos: Barbara Graham, Lesley Graham, Janey MacKenzie
Altos: Alison Hodges, Denise Wilson
Tenors: Ed Hintz, John Beaglehole
Basses: Rodney Macann, Roger Wilson.

An 18-member Chamber Orchestra, including Vector and Wellington Chamber Orchestra players, will feature Leader Sharon Callaghan, Janet Holborow continuo cello, Thomas Gaynor portative organ and Andrew Kirk trumpet.
There will be a pre-concert talk of approximately 15 minutes at 1.15pm.
