Kaiapoi Classic Multisport and Duathlon Race

The Kaiapoi Classic is a fun and enjoyable event that is designed to be shared with friends, work colleagues and family. Each stage is designed to be easy enough for the weekend athlete and first-timer, yet provide a challenge for the more serious competitor.

It is one of the few "short-course" multisport events featuring mountainbiking rather than roadbiking.

What's more, all transitions for the Kaiapoi Classic take place in the same area. This means you don't need a support crew to compete, and if you do your helpers can sit and relax by the banks of the picturesque Kaiapoi River rather than having to hurry between transition areas. There's even a kids' playground, plus good food, drink and entertainment on site.

The whole of Kaiapoi gets behind this event, with local businesses donating a plethora of spot prizes, and many Kaiapoi clubs and volunteer organisations provide a virtual army of helpers
