Te Iti Kahurangi - The Most Precious One: Curated by Lyndal Jefferies.
When early maori first saw the green glass bottles the colonials had brought with them, they thought they were made from Kahurangi, the purest form of translucent Pounamu. This moment inspires the curatorial trajectory for this contemporary Glass/Pounamu exhibition.
Proudly sponsored by Obsidian Vineyard which has a strong affinity to this exhibition given that it is named after the volcanic glass obsidian.
