Back by popular demand the Telecom Tree returns to Auckland this Christmas. The 27 metre-high (seven storey) light structure will be located in Auckland’s Western Park. The Telecom Tree is open to the public from 28 November to 26 December, all day and night with stunning lightshows each evening.

The Telecom Tree is home to dedicated Santa Line phone boxes for children to ring Santa direct. When children leave their wish in the phone boxes at the base of the tree, their voices will magically activate the lights in the cables that run from their phone box to the top of the Tree, creating a beautiful light show as they travel to the top.

The Santa Line will be open for calls from 28 November and children can call the Santa Line on 0800 222 222.

As well as admiring the tree from the outside, visitors can also go inside the tree, a space that holds 200 people, and gaze up at the spectacular lights above – a first of its kind in the world.

Starship, New Zealand's national children's hospital, is the official Telecom Tree charity in Auckland this year, and guests are encouraged to bring an old mobile phone for Starship's mobile phone recycling appeal to place in gift boxes under the Tree.
