If you enjoy attempting to solve murder mysteries, you must go and see Dolphin Theatre’s final play of the year, “Nightmare”. Playing from 14th November to 5th December, this ingenious thriller will keep you in suspense till the very end.

Nightmare was written in 1988 by Norman Robbins, the world's most prolific and successful pantomime writer, and it would be hard to find a play with so many ingenious twists and turns.

The play is set in an isolated house on the edge of a moor where Marion Bishop, a wealthy elderly novelist is dying. Her imminent death is eagerly awaited by several people after her money.

Director Sue Moncrieff-Driscoll has chosen a cast of experienced and talented actors, which includes Dolphin stalwart Robin Nicholson as the elderly writer. Playing the part of her doctor is experienced UK actor, Dave Burch, who auditioned for the part practically as soon as he stepped off the plane!

Another actor with recent UK experience making her debut at Dolphin Theatre, is Jenny Lawton, who earlier this year appeared in TV's "Shortland St". Playing her brain-damaged brother is talented Lynfield College student, Zane Fleming, in his third role at Dolphin Theatre. Zane also regularly performs with the National Youth Theatre Company, most recently in the NZ Premier of High School Musical 2.

Vanessa Beavan is enjoying her first Dolphin production, playing Laura, the nurse with a decidedly suspicious past. The talented cast of 7 is completed by Jeni Cottier as the friendly village shop-keeper and Jon Richardson, who earlier this year appeared in A Bolt From the Blue, and returns to the Dolphin stage as Marion’s dastardly nephew.

Come along for a night of intrigue and see if you can guess whodunit!
