Kiwi Singer/Songwriter Showcase

The Kiwi Singer Songwriter Showcase is a showcase of top local talented songwriters every Wednesday night at the new refurbished Osborne Street Bar.
This is a great night out for people who want to hear quality original music and an opportunity for local songwriters to promote and showcase their music to the public.

Fiona McEwen 8.30pm
West Auckland singer/songwriter and rhythm guitarist Fiona McEwen combines folk, pop, rock and country influences to create original, melodic songs. She performs often around Auckland and West Auckland as a duo with Steve Terry on guitar at open mic nights, venues, markets, folk clubs and festivals, including the Titirangi Festival of Music (2006, 7 & 8). Known for her strong, distinctive vocals, Fiona’s songs are mostly inspired by real-life experiences, people and relationships. With Backing Vocals from Wendy Morris www.myspace.com/fionamcewen

The Brassy Beats 10.30pm
Brassy Beats is a 9-piece Auckland band comprised of accomplished brass players and percussionists who formed in 2008 to spread their love of Brazilian rhythms. They play an upbeat fusion of Brazilian rhythms and horns with soul, funk and reggae influences, with a distinctly kiwi flavour. http://www.myspace.com/brassybeats
