Non-stop Book Fair over 24hrs.
The Book Fair, in its 17th year is organised by the GABBS Trust. A Trust formed by the Tamaki Lions Club and the ASB Stadium Sports Clubs along with the ASB Stadium.
With the books having been donated by the Community throughout the year the funds raised are returned to the community via the above Clubs.
The majority of the books are only priced at $2 or $3 - a real bargain. There is also a $5 and Specials area along with a magazine section.
This year we have received a leather- bound Bible printed in 1680. This will be auctioned by placing you bid at any time throughout the period of the Fair.
The attached photo was taken very early on a Sunday morning - 18 hrs into the Fair with bargain hunters just starting to arrive for the last 6 hrs of the Fair.
Avid readers queue up to 4hrs before the Fair opens at 12 Noon on the Saturday.
