Now in its 15th year, the Ross Fireworks is the premier pyrotechnic event on the West Coast of the Southern Alps. Some 2,500 people gather each year to have a picnic dinner and see fantastic fireworks by the edge of the old gold mining lake near the centre of the village.
Location
Ross, 32 km south of Hokitika. Recreation field by the lake; just off the main street. You can’t miss it.
5.00pm Gates open
Bring the family for dinner; there will be food stalls, soft drinks, tea/coffee; no alcohol – this is a family event. The Red Moki from Hoki will be there entertaining the children with a treasure hunt and lolly scramble. As well, Adam Allsorts, clown, acrobat, magician juggler, balloon twister and mime artist will be performing during the evening. BOUNCY CASTLE for the kids.

7.30pm Evan Birchfield’s special event
9.00pm Fireworks starts
9.45pm Fireworks finishes
Entry $5 per person or $20 family
