There’s something for everyone at this year’s Sumner School Garden Tour.

It’s a unique chance to visit 11 inspiring coastal and hillside gardens in a single day.

From Taylor’s Mistake to Redcliffs, you’ll find surprises behind every garden gate – bold architectural landscaping, traditional cottage gardens, and imaginative plantings of native and subtropical species. Inspiration for all gardeners, and magnificent views too!

There’ll also be gardening experts on-site. Bill Martin, lecturer in organic horticulture, will be on hand to answer your questions about organic gardening, and Paul Mitchell, owner of the Herbal Dispensary, will be at his garden to talk to visitors about sustainable gardening and the medicinal use of herbs.

The team at Carousel Flora will be demonstrating how to make floral Christmas wreaths using locally sourced and freely available materials.

The ticket price includes coffee and cake at one of the gardens, and wine and cheese plus live entertainment at another. There will be opportunities to purchase potted herbs, floral Christmas wreaths and the excellent Sumner School cookbook.

All money raised by this event will go towards building a new Hall for Sumner School and the local community.

Tickets are $30.00 and can be purchased from mid-October from the following outlets: Sumner School Office, The Lily Bud, Casual & Country, Merivale House of Travel, Redcliffs Pharmacy, Carousel Flora, or Ballantynes.
