Front Porch Swing

Front Porch Swing are four talented musicians from a variety of Christchurch bands performing a unique blend of musical styles. This results in some great musicianship, harmonies, and a little musical guesswork laced with humour. The group features vocalist Denny Stanway from the Celtic/folk group Rua, keyboardist John Sanchez-Lloyd and bassist Geoff Farmar from the ever popular Coalrangers with guitarist Greg Mooney from The Electric Cowboys.
This musical union was forged back in the 1980’s at the Boomtown Café. Musicians would meet up after gigs to wind down, often jamming into the small hours. From this musical hotbed The Boomtown Café Orchestra evolved featuring these four musicians amongst its lineup.

As well as including some of their own songs, the band enjoys giving full interpretive rein to a wide selection of other music. The result is often an imaginative musical makeover with a distinct flavour all of its own… something old, something new, something borrowed, something blues.
