Auckland Premier Baseball: Spring Shield: Round 2

Spring is here and the crack of the baseball bat is resonating across the ballparks of Auckland. Baseball is back for the 2009 Spring Shield!

The Auckland Premier Baseball season rolls on this weekend with the top players from the Auckland competition taking to the field in the second round of the Spring Shield.

This weekend the West City Angels take on the up and coming Cola Yeh team in the first game of a tough double header, with the second game a rematch of the 2008 Auckland Premier League final between the West City Angels and the reigning Auckland champions, the West City Wildcats at 2pm.
The first pitch will be thrown down at 10am, so get there early to support your boys.

The West City Premier team, under Coach Alan Lotze, are on their way back towards the powerhouse unit which saw them take the Auckland title in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009, and the National Club Championship in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2009.

McLeod Park is now an even greater place to spend a Sunday. So grab your friends and family, bring a picnic and some sunscreen, and get down to your local ballpark at McLeod Park to check out the action.

The boys of summer are back in town.
