Urban Ersha: Live Covers Band

Wellington's Best Cover Bands are playing twice weekly at The Big Kumara.

This Saturday is Urban Ersha. All the way from Palmerston North, this band is one of the best covers bands to ever play at the Big Kumara. Not to be missed.

Urban Ersha started from humble beginnings, born in Wellington way back in 2003. The brain child originally consisting of 3 members hailed from Levin, Davis (Lead Vocals), David (Lead Guitar) and Christian (Rhythm Guitar and Back up Vocals).With the raw energy, talent and enthusiasm required to become successful already honed, the goal of signing to a label would prove to be a far greater challenge than expected. With an overabundance of like minded and driven bands grinding to make there own mark within the Wellington music melting pot, a hard decision was made by all to focus on building a foundation at roots level. From 2004, based back in Palmerston North, Urban Ersha began the work horse pushing out music at local bars, functions and community events which would lead them on to performances opening for some of NZ’s respected muso’s the likes of Anika Moa and Fast Crew to name a few. Diversifying the musical range to meet the job requirements of playing both humble and bigger events, the band spawned 3 new members in the form of Mario (Drums), Fiti (Vocals) and Evan (Bass) the latest member joining in early 2007 being Rhys taking honors on Drums.
