Showbiz Queenstown brings to you in May...
Les Miserables is the immensely popular stage musical based on Victor Hugo's 19th century French novel.
Les Miserables is the musical account of the lives and interactions of several nineteenth century French characters. Principally Jean Valjean, an ex-convict who seeks to redeem himself by becoming a respectable and beneficent employer, whilst being relentlessly pursued by Javert, the obsessively conscientious police inspector.
His life is further complicated by his taking responsibility for an orphaned girl, whose mother had been in his employ.
All characters also become embroiled in the student-led revolt against the repressive French authorities.
Director - Douglas Kamo
Musical Directors - Stuart Walker
Assistant Musical Director - Cheryl Collie
