The 2009 NZ International Comedy Festival Presents
Cadbury Crunchie® Comedy Convoy

Comedy hits the road this May as the Crunchie® Comedy Convoy brings laughs to the heartland. Since its 2002 debut the Convoy has given audiences outside of the main centers the opportunity to experience the best comedians from New Zealand and abroad.

Hitting ten locations in all, the Convoy starts off in the North Island with dates in Tauranga, Napier, Palmerston North and New Plymouth before crossing the Cook Strait to tour Nelson, Blenheim, Christchurch, Invercargill and Queenstown.

Ben Hurley, last years’ winner of THE FRED award for best veteran kiwi comedian, and former Billy T winner Paul Ego make up the New Zealand contingent of this travelling comedy carnival. Wilson Dixon, a faux-country singer from the United States, Australian working mother and Melbourne Comedy Festival headliner Fiona O’Loughlin, and gleefully silly political Canadian Glenn Wool round out the Convoy lineup.

Kicking off on May 19, the Convoy is a key event of the 2009 New Zealand International Comedy Festival, and brings the best of the fest to those living outside Auckland and Wellington.

Forget all your worries, have a few laughs – even if it’s just for one night!
