Like all music my 'favourite' varies depending on what has been happening in my life etc. And with the amount of amazing music The Beatles gave us, and their contribution to the history of both music and society, it changes all the time! But at the moment it would have to be A Hard Day's Night. I recently watched the movie with my 10 year old son and he loved it, so the theme song not only makes me smile thinking of the frenetic opening scene, but the joy of opening up The Beatles and their music to a whole new generation.

The year was 1969, I was in my final year at high school. Four other young guys, plus me had formed a band called "EXPRESSION", We had the use of the basement of a high profile hairdressing salon, in Lichfield street, owned by David Bradford (later Mayor of Queenstown) We called our little hangout the "cellar" since it was below street level, it was our practice venue, and the public could get " free to ear " live BEATLES music as we learned our repertoire of fab four songs. I was young, unattached, and one tune use to get deep into my mind, because of its simple but effective melody & lyrics, but highly ironic to my circumstances, the song is "YOU ARE GOING TO LOSE THAT GIRL ", from the 1965 HELP album.

Imagine is my favourite - it has such high ideals for our world, and there is no reason for these not to be attained. We all should work together for world peace, for harmony, to help save the world from all sorts of destruction. It is a powerful song, with a haunting melody.

My favorite Beatle's song is 'All you need is love,' this song captures the heart of people all over the world. It is simple, yet also portrays the struggle people go through to find the one who is right for them. Simply all we need is love, it is a human need to have communication, and love strikes off a happiness which cannot be described in words.
