If it is not in a literal sense which would be anything south of the Bombay Hills for me, I would say it is me going against the current of doing what everyone is doing and maybe using some reverse sociology to boot but saying I don't want to win this prize.

Going South for me, means downing a bottle of chilled wine (pinot noir) within half an hour. The fact that its chilled reminds us of the South Island which is how we came up with this saying last year while we were at a party.

From auckland city where i live, i like to travel to the south of auckland where you can really find the different mix of races. Having migrated from Indonesia twenty years ago, going south feels close to home where there is the diversity of culture :-)

Well when you live in Wellington, going south can only mean crossing that wild (sometimes) stretch of water. But it all depends on your point of origin - Aucklanders would naturally head south (to Welly) for a spot of culture. Even those living in Invercargill can head south - but most people never discover the delights of Stewart Island.

Going southside is about discovery and exploration. It's like a whole other world down there, with more varied faces than I could imagine aswell! Always fun!
