Clearwaters is a group of very talented and experienced Auckland musicians who invite their audience to re-live the excitement of early seventies rock through a musical tribute to the most dynamic and enduring band from the period, Creedence Clearwater Revival.
The music of CCR is just as popular today with all ages as it was over three decades ago, and features on the daily playlists of many local radio stations. The group’s material has provided hits for countless other artists such as ‘Heard it Through the Grapevine’ (Marvin Gaye), ‘Proud Mary’ (Tina Turner), ‘Rockin’ All Over the World’ (Status Quo) and many more.
Clearwaters plays all the CCR hits including Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising, Green River, Suzie Q, Bootleg, Travellin’ Band, Born on the Bayou, Hey Tonight, Up Around the Bend, Midnight Special, Put A Spell on You, Fortunate Son, Sweet Hitch-hiker, Have You Ever Seen the Rain, 110 in the Shade, Molina and many more, in a dynamic, fun-filled and exciting three-hour show of rock, country and blues. You’ll find yourself singing along to all those great hits you thought you’d forgotten and realise what fantastic songs CCR wrote and performed. Audiences have raved about the music and CCR fans have followed the Clearwaters from gig to gig.
The line-up of guitars, bass and drums includes Bill London (ex Aussie Pleazers) on guitar and lead vocals, Ian Smillie (ex James Ray band) lead guitar and vocals, Reuben Cutts (ex Glen Moffat Band) keyboards, guitar, vocals, Dave Earnshaw (Dave Dane and The Danes) bass and vocals, and Mal Finlayson (ex Silhouettes) on drums.
Opening the show is 'Dolly & Stevie', a tribute to Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks. Karen Davy, recently back from appearances in Las Vegas and NZ Stars in Their Eyes, performs an unforgettable tribute to Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks. This show is crammed full of great music and side splitting comedy from this award winning artist. Not to be missed.
