Please join us at Galatos this Thursday 28 May for a NZ Music Month special Shortfuse and Intersect
Loop Recordings formed from the ashes of Wellington based Loop Magazine in 2000. With its first output being landmark releases from The Black Seeds and Rhian Sheehan the label rapidly became a force to reckoned with in the NZ music industry. Fast-forward almost 10 years and with nearly 50 releases under its belt the label has moved from Wellington to Auckland and become a key player in the creative industries. From Fashion Week to Fly My Pretties and the NZ Post Poetry competition LOOP has demonstrated diversity and resilience at every turn. May and June sees LOOP embarking on one of its' most complex projects yet, the multi-city Fly My Pretties tour and live record, which hits Auckland next week at Sky City Theatre.
For its monthly Short Fuse series of screenings, MIC Toi Rerehiko presents a selection of work from the LOOP roster in order to celebrate NZ Music Month 2009. This includes the documentary for the 2006 Fly My Pretties tour and a series of classic clips from The Black Seeds, Rhian Sheehan, Ebb, The Video Kid, Recloose, Fly My Pretties and more.
