Featuring the Band's seven saxophone players, the 65 members of the Central Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force will perform at the Wellington Town Hall on 12 March to complete their North Island Tour.
The Concerts will be jam-packed with something for everyone, with musical variety ranging from the classics to modern hits, from Tchaikovsky to ABBA. Guest vocalists include singers Bella Kalolo and Stephanie Paris.
"The Central Band of the RNZAF is a unique musical institution. It is the biggest band in Australasia and it's saxophones will feature ranging from the huge bass, to the sopranino saxophone" said the Royal New Zealand Air Force's Director of Music, Squadron Leader Owen Clarke.
"People of all ages love seeing and hearing the different instruments, especially the saxophones and of course the drums!"
The Central Band of the RNZAF, which first paraded in 1937 for the coronation of King George IV, has become a Wellington icon and expects this rare Wellington concert to be popular.
